Following the success of Clouds and Sheep 1 on the Apple Market, and Google play store, the developers  over at Handy Games, who's previous releases include have made a sequel and brought it to the Xbox Store. If you are unfamiliar with the premise of the game have no fear, I'm here to cover everything you need to know before buying the game. At a price of just $9.99 this lovely title is quite affordable and won't bust your wallet. Clouds and Sheep 2 released on November 18th on Xbox.

A good thing about this game is the fact it is pretty straight forward and you won't start the game feeling lost, or have to sit through 20 minutes of tutorials. Everything about the game is pretty simple, yet the variety of things to do is pretty complex. Almost everything you see in the game has some use to it, even the see-saws and swings. Really the whole point of the game is to raise sheep, but along the way you will find new ways to keep your sheep happy, with other sheep and the way you raise them. You can keep them happy by completing quest to fulfil their needs, using clouds to make it rain and keep them hydrated, growing grass to feed them and building fun toys for them to play with. Another good thing about the game is the pick up and play factor, this is something you can play for about 20 minutes at a time and not feel like you don’t have enough time to play it. With most games I like to get at least a hour or two of play before I put it down, but with this anyone can hop on for a little while and still make decent progress.

Resource management and micro-management, and customization is a big part of the game, you can change the colours of the sheep's wool, the pasture they graze in, the farm they take shelter in, even customize what you grow and harvest for them for different benefits. Most of your time spent with the game will be stocking up and waiting to build more stuff for your sheep, if you played games like The Sims, Animal Crossing or even if you had a Tomagochi then the gameplay will seem familiar and approachable for you.

Everything has a purpose in this game which I particularly loved, with so many options you may feel like you may be missing out on key aspects of the game but in my play through I never felt I was missing out or being penalized for only focusing on certain things. While being for the most part a open ended game, everything is straight forward. Really the main goal is to just keep your sheep happy and healthy and as stated before there are so many ways to do this, so have no worries if you feel you are taking a somewhat narrow approach.

Visuals for the game are nice and simple, the sheep are well detailed, everything in the background such as the farmhouse, the mountain tops, clouds and trees and interactive items in the game have a nice look as well, the graphics certainly are not a showcase for Xbox One, but for what the game is, they are not bad either. As for the music, well it's a bit generic to say the least but wasn’t a deal breaker for me as I can't expect much from a simple game like this.

Now onto Achievements! Lucky for us achievement hunters the whole game is a easy completion, the achievements will cover basic actions you will be performing as you play the game, so most of them will come with natural progression through the game. There are a few grindy ones such as planting 100 Conifer Trees or solving 100 quest but they will come with natural progress and you can get the full 1000 Gamerscore in about 12-15 hours. Expect to unlock at least 500 in your first few hours of the game.

When all is said and done, Clouds and Sheep 2 was intended to be family friendly, as with family friendly games the goal is to make it playable for everyone, even the young children in the house. The developers did a great job of it, yes everything in the game may seem a little out of your normal gaming zone, but for making a game that is fun enough for me and my little brother to enjoy, I cant help but applaud HandyGames for making a title that is playable for everyone of all ages and most of all making it FUN. The video game market is flooded with violent titles so its nice to find something I can play with the younger generations in my family. When you factor in the easy achievements and low price of $9.99, you would be hard pressed to find a reason not to pick up Clouds and Sheep 2 for your Xbox One.

Final Score - 7/10
