Now achievement hunters everywhere have at one point or another heard of Doodle God for Windows and Windows Phone. The games boasted creative gameplay and easy achievements which made the game appeal to a wide audience of achievement hunters. The developers over at JoyBits have been kind enough to bring the hit game to Xbox One. Now there is essentially nothing new when it comes to Doodle God Ultimate Edition, in fact the game is actually a combination of Doodle God and the sequel Doodle God Blitz that were released for windows on phones and PC. The game is very simple at first glance, you mix and match different elements which will unlock more elements, the end goal is to create them all. It's basically a puzzle game to say the least. There is a main campaign, which you will go through 4 campaign episodes as well as side missions which you unlock on the way.
Now the game is very creative with the combinations, you start with basics, such as fire, water, lava, stone, steam, air etc. A basic combination would be something like water and lava to make steam. Then it will get complex with what they call metaphorical combinations. Such as earth and egg to create a dinosaur. There are some very funny one like corpse plus life to create a zombie and one of my favourites, alcohol plus human to create alcoholic. At last count there are about 250 different elements. And about 350 reactions which you get from the actions of combining elements.

Now when it comes to the visuals and audio there really isn't anything new or updated in the Xbox One version. The game looks almost exactly the same as the windows PC versions I played before, audio is very simplistic, even though this isn't supposed to be a game with a all star soundtrack, I couldn’t help but feeling a little more creative music would have been nice. The lack of variety wasn’t a turn off but I feel it was a missed opportunity.
Achievements are easier as before, you have a list of 22 achievements, none of which are hard to say the least. Basically the achievements will have you being rewarded for creating the first groups of combinations, then you have a few for the side missions, as well as completing each episode of levels. There are also achievements that will reward you for not using hints so I'd recommend using a walkthrough for the game. Then there is a achievement for creating every element combination and reaction. This is also where a guide would be handy.

Overall you get a great value for your money, at a reasonable price of $9.99 you get essentially two games, Doodle God and Doodle God Blitz. The game has a easy 1000G that only takes about 5-6 hours. I had a lot of fun using logic and humour to create some funny combinations. The game provides a very relaxing environment which can appeal to gamers of all ages. Whether you pick up Doodle God Ultimate Edition for the achievements or for the casual fun, I know you won't be disappointed.
