Metrico+ is a very unique puzzle platformer from the developers Digital Dreams based in the Netherlands. Obviously on the ID@Xbox platform we have seen a abundance of platformers and puzzles games in recent years but Metrico+ is delivering that gameplay in a way not seen before. Now this is no real story to this game, basically your objective is get from Point A to Point B, where the game is different is the fact that the environment reacts and changes depending on player movement. Whether your jumping or running left or right or any combination, certain platforms will raise up or expand or shrink. This aspect makes getting from Point A to Point B as fun as it cam be. This is such unique gameplay. Visually the game has minimalistic graphics. No striking HD visuals but the graphics actually work well with this title and compliment the gameplay very well.  Starting off in the game you will first get your basic tutorial levels, after 3 or 4 you get into harder and harder levels. Requiring you to master the skills you just learned. Every time you progress you are introduced to even more variety than before. The game isn't impossible but you will need practice if you want all the achievements which ill get into shortly.

When the game was originally released for the PS Vita in 2014 the game took full advantage of the technology included in the system, such as tilt control and use of the camera. Unfortunately for us Xbox One Users, the game lacks anything more than basic controller functions. I feel the developers missed a great opportunity to take advantage of the Xbox One's Kinect Sensor which is being ignored by basically every game these days. Controls on Xbox One are done well though. Sometimes using several mechanics at once can be troublesome but I rarely found myself having that problem often.

Metrico+ has a list of 17 achievements worth 1000 Gamerscore. The achievements will be no easy task. As there are achievements for speed running each world in under a certain amount of time. For those achievements you will need to master each world as efficiently as possible. There are also achievements for beating levels without dying and without missing shots. Then you will need to find all collectables in the game. Estimates on TA suggest this game will take about 12-15 hours to get 100%, while just playing the game regularly will take about 3-5 hours.

Overall Metrico+ is a decent game that provides never before seen gameplay when it comes to puzzles and platformers. Any fan of said genres should check this game out. Released on Jan 20th 2017, Metrico+ is available now on Xbox One. Retailing for a price of $13.99.

Final Score - 7/10
